Eiko Yoshizumi
EIKO YOSHIZUMI ‘IF I WERE YOU’ Haute couture hat collection 2016
What is true luxury? Couture takes time and patience - qualities that are rapidly being forgotten. ‘If I Were You’ promises a return to these timeless values, in the spirit of genuine couture.
Taking inspiration from Diana Vreeland and her column ‘Why don’t you…?’ in 1930s Harper’s Bazaar, ‘Why Don’t You’ is the first collection by Eiko Yoshizumi, a Japanese hat designer and visual artist.
The show features collaborations with musicians and an animation artist, inspired by Yoshizumi’s artistic points of view and creations.
Yoshizumi has been training in couture hat design since 2014 at Prudence Millinery, a hat designer well known for her work with Vivienne Westwood. Yoshizumi has studied rare and traditional techniques of couture hat making.
This show was held on 13th March 2016 at IKLECTIK Art Lab.
